Service Description
Spring is the time to collect food and make medicines! There is so much food in the forests right now, more than what’s in the garden! Plus, many medicinal plants as well. In this 4-hour class where we will explore the plants and classify what is edible, medicinal, and utilitarian. An edible plant may be edible but is it palatable? What would you eat in a survival situation? Or is this plant absolutely yummy and irresistible?! During this 4-week series, we will be exploring 4 different eco-systems to see what’s on the forest menu. Our meeting locations will be in the greater Sandpoint area in Bonner County and announced as we get closer to harvest time. All courses are from 10am - 2pm PT Dates: Saturday, May 17th Saturday, June 7th Saturday, June 21st Saturday, June 28th Bring: appropriate clothing for outdoor weather (rain or shine) plant journal camera snacks/brown bag lunch water
